The second of two 26 foot sailing cobles built side by side in 2014 by John Clarkson, Joe Gelsthorpe and volunteers. Both were built in the Bridlington Harbour Commissioners Vessel Maintenance Facility (VMF) at Clough Hole.

Built of larch planks (strakes) and oak frames (timbers), “Free Spirit” is identical to “Gansey Lass” and carries a dipping-lug mainsail with a jib.
