Viking
Viking was also retrieved from Hartlepool at the same time as Venus. She is what is known as a mule or a double ender in that she has a pointed bow and stern. This was a preferred arrangement for cobles in packed harbours. Little is known about the origins of Viking but she had obviously worked on the River Tees and was possibly built by either the Cambridge or Pounder families around 1908. A Hartlepool pilot coble it was painted in the traditional black and had the number 29H on her bows. At this time the schedule to refurbish her will probably be late summer 2022.
